Snow Camps

Welcome to our budget-priced ski programme, designed to keep the cost of a ski holiday as low as possible to give the opportunity to more young people to enjoy this exhilarating sport!

The Location

The Lech Valley (Lechtal) is situated in the Austrian Tyrol, 50 miles west of Innsbruck in the north-west corner of the country. Spectacularly hemmed in on either side by the Lechtaler and Allgauer Alps, here is everything one would imagine of an Austrian winter setting; typical Tyrolean villages and warm, inviting gasthofs. Our centres, being situated along the valley, make an ideal and safe environment for groups of young people, allowing them greater freedom than at a larger resort.

Why a snow camp is different

Each group is accommodated in their own exclusive centre, it’s solely for the use of your group and not shared with anyone else. You may come and go as you please and make it your ‘home from home’. We believe this helps create a special group atmosphere that makes a ‘Snow Camp’ different to the usual type of ski holiday. Each day our friendly staff come in to do the cooking and cleaning, leaving you more free time to SKI!

Travel details

All groups have exclusive use of an executive full size coach (usually 49 seats) with a free pick up from your local requested pick up point. We use P&O’s short sea crossing from Dover to Calais, taking just 75 minutes. Should you prefer to use the tunnel this can be arranged for a supplement. We utilise overnight travel and the journey from Calais to the Lech Valley is approximately 14 hours. Our prices are for exclusive use of the coach, however if we can combine two small groups together on one coach, the price for the total passengers on that coach will apply, making the cost lower for everyone.

Accommodation and meals

Every group is allocated their own exclusive centre. We have a large number of centres, all varying in size and layout, so we are able to cater for groups of 20 or more members. All centres are fully-furnished and equipped, the only items we ask you to bring from home are towels and bed linen (2 sheets and a pillowcase). All meals whilst in resort as well as a packed lunch for the return journey are included in the price.

The skiing

Lechtal itself offers ideal ski conditions for the beginner and intermediate skier, mostly within walking distance of our accommodation centres. A short coach journey will take you to the more challenging runs in the neighbouring valleys of Tannheim and Warth/Salober, where there are a wide variety of runs that would test the skills of any experienced skier. For those interested in cross-country (langlauf) skiing, Lechtal offers well-prepared courses throughout the valley.

Apres Ski

There’s still plenty to do in the evenings in Lechtal, choose from traditional nine-pin bowling, tobogganing, swimming, ice skating, a night out at the disco or one of the many warm, inviting gasthofs.

Ski equipment and lessons

Ski equipment supplied is of a high quality and we include 6 days hire in your tour price. Snowboards are also available to hire for a supplementary charge. Ski lessons are given by fully qualified ski instructors employed by local Austrian Ski Schools. Snowboarding lessons are only available in the neighbouring valleys and are not included in the price.

Your local Jeka team

Each day during your stay, one of our team of highly dedicated volunteers will call to see you, to check everything is running according to plan, to give information and to help in any other way they can. We also have a local office in the valley which is contactable 24 hours a day

Thanks again for another superb experience that will live long in everyone’s memory. The ski instructors from Holzgau ski school were superb – they really made it a special experience for all. Well done everyone at JEKA again – where next? . quote
